In short
3-day money-back guarantee. If SurfaBeam Pro isn’t right for you, email us within 3 days of your purchase and we’ll refund it in full — no explanation required. There is also a free tier, so you can try the app before buying.
Table of Contents
1) 3-Day Money-Back Guarantee
You may request a full refund of a SurfaBeam Pro subscription purchased through this website within 3 days of the date of purchase. You do not need to give a reason.
The guarantee applies to both the Personal and Commercial plans, and to your first purchase of a plan.
SurfaBeam has a free tier that lets you use the app before deciding to buy, so we encourage you to try it first — particularly to confirm the app works with your projector, camera and computer.
2) How to Request a Refund
Email [email protected] with:
- the email address you used at checkout;
- your order or transaction reference from the Polar receipt, if you have it;
- optionally, what didn’t work for you — this is genuinely helpful to us, and never required.
Please do not send us your full licence key by email. If we need to identify the licence, the last 4 characters are enough.
Website purchases are sold by Polar as merchant of record, so you may also request a refund directly from Polar using the link on your receipt. Either route works.
3) Processing & Timing
- We normally respond to refund requests within 2 business days.
- Approved refunds are issued by Polar to your original payment method.
- Funds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Refunds include any sales tax or VAT charged on the original order.
4) What Happens to Your Licence
When a refund is issued, the associated subscription is cancelled and the licence key stops granting Pro. Your app returns to the free tier the next time it checks in, and within a short period at most if it is offline.
Projects, layouts and media you created remain yours and stay on your computer. Features that are Pro-only — such as saving and loading projects, recording and watermark-free output — become unavailable again.
5) Renewals & Cancellation
Subscriptions renew yearly. Cancelling is not the same as a refund: cancelling stops future charges and you keep Pro until the end of the term you have already paid for.
You can cancel at any time from the customer portal link on your Polar receipt, or by emailing us.
Renewal charges
If an automatic renewal catches you by surprise, contact us within 3 days of the renewal charge and we will refund it, provided you have not made substantial use of Pro during that new term. We would always rather refund an unwanted renewal than argue about it.
6) Exceptions
We may decline a refund where:
- the request is made more than 3 days after the purchase or renewal it relates to;
- there is evidence of abuse — for example repeatedly buying and refunding, or refunding after using Pro for a specific event and then re-purchasing;
- the licence key has been shared, resold or publicly distributed in breach of the Terms of Service;
- the purchase was made through the App Store, Google Play or Steam (see section 8).
These exceptions do not limit any statutory rights you have — see section 7.
7) Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law where you live. Those rights apply in addition to the guarantee above.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you generally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. That right may end early once delivery of the digital content begins with your express consent and acknowledgement — which happens when your licence key is issued at checkout.
Where that statutory right does apply to you, it is not shortened by the 3-day guarantee described above. The 3-day guarantee is a voluntary commitment we offer to everyone, including customers who have no statutory right of withdrawal; it sits alongside your legal rights and never replaces them.
If the software is faulty or not as described, you may also be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under local consumer law, well beyond either window.
8) App Store, Google Play & Steam
This policy covers purchases made through this website only. Purchases made through the Apple App Store, Google Play or Steam are handled by those platforms under their own refund rules, and we cannot issue refunds for them.
- Apple — request via reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play — request via Google Play’s order history or support.
- Steam — request via Steam Support.
If a platform declines a refund you believe is fair, contact us anyway — we will help where we can.
